Welcome to Mr. Long Zhou's Music Studio's website! We appreciate you showing interest in us.
The directed ensemble group, Strings in Motion, made their performance debut in China during an international tour in July 2005. The group also just earn a winning ebay bid of $1000.00 for an hour performance in Kerrville, Texas in December, 2005.

Congratulations to Nancy Zhou for her acceptance into New England Conservatory and into Harvard University as a pre-med major with full scholarship granted from both schools.

Congratulations to Blake Turner on being accepted to study at Rice University in Houston, TX granted with almost a full scholarship.

Congratulations to Nancy Zhou on winning 1st prize, $10,000, and an award for the Best Performance of the Commissioned Work, $500, in the violin division of the 5th Triennial Johansen International Competition for Young String Players in Washington, DC and also won Ist prize, $10,000.00 at Chinese International Violin Competition in New York City, New York in August, 2009.

Nancy Zhou will perform as a guest artist with the San Antonio Symphony on January 15 & 16, 2010 at 8 p.m. (Majestic Theater) and on January 17, 2010 at 4 p.m.(Ronald Reagan High School)

Nancy Zhou's guest artist solo recital on January 8, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Coker United Methodist Church. ( at 231 E. North Loop Rd, San Antonio, Texas). www.coker.org

Congratulations to Mr. Zhou's students on being accepted to study at Harvard, Yale, Johns Hopkins and Rice University and his student became a international violin player.

Congratulations to Collin Turner for winnig the 2012 San Antonio Future Stars Competition first prize winner for the string devision and grand prize winner for all division and also Congratulatios to him for winning the 2012 Pearl Amster Concerto Competition. In conjunction with prize, he will be a soloist with San Antonio Symphony and Austin Civic Orchestra.

Activities

Mr. Long Zhou, a very fine string instructor, has been teaching for more than 20 years. His primary goal is to enhance music education for young musicians and help music appreciation spread.


The ensemble group now are active with wide variety of musical activities such as rehearsals for the China tour. In the past, the group have played for many public sites, making audiences breathless. About the Teacher

Mr. Long Zhou, director and founder of Strings in Motion: A graduate of the Shanghai Conservatory of China and the University of Houston, member of the San Antonio Symphony, the concertmaster of the Symphony of the Hills, and was an associate concertmaster of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. Mr. Long Zhou won many competitions. He has been a soloist with Shanghai Symphony, Beijing Symphony, Austin Civic Symphony and Houston Civic Symphony. He made his solo debut with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra in year 2001, and is one of the best San Antonio teachers. As an international player, he was the guest artist for the ShenZhen Symphony in China and the Macau Symphony.

 

 

 

Mission Statement

Mr. Long Zhou wishes to sustain the quality of the group as long as he can. Mr. Long Zhou's goal is to establish a vivid presence of the group and present their playing and their image to the audience successfully.
